Grim, Violent Man of Steel Sells Superman’s Soul for Spectacle

It’s really hard to make a good Superman movie. The bar is high, and well-established: Richard Donner’s 1979 Superman the Movie and its 1981 follow-up have, thus far, proven timelessly definitive in a way no other Superman film has been able to touch.

Heath Ledger's Joker Diary Surfaces In Footage From German Documentary Series (VIDEO)

A fascinating new video that may provide a brush of insight into Heath Ledger prior to his death has surfaced. In it, Ledger's father leafs through a diary his son kept for the Joker while filming the now-iconic role in "The Dark Knight."

The diary is an extensive portrait of what Ledger thought the Joker's mentality looked like, complete with elaborate entries, drawings and magazine clippings. The actor included imagery that features everything from old Batman comics to "A Clockwork Orange" photos. As Ledger's father discusses the diary, the Oscar his son won posthumously for the role sits nearby on the table.

The footage turned up on Reddit and appears to be a clip from a year-old episode of the German docuseries "Too Young To Die." The segment was titled "Heath Ledger: Favorite of the Gods."

The elder Ledger says the actor, who died of an accidental overdose at 28, was famous for poring himself over his characters and that he "locked himself up in a hotel room for weeks" in order to inhabit the Joker.

Jennifer Lopez Defends Controversial Britain's Got Talent Costume

The stunning star came under fire after she performed her hit single "Live It Up." Media watchdog Ofcom, which is similar to the FCC, told E! News it "received complaints, which we are currently assessing but not investigating at the moment."

The BBC radio host also pressed J.Lo for deets on her undergarments, asking the singer if she was wearing anything "under those fishnets to prevent a wardrobe malfunction."

"Sure. Absolutely," Casper Smart's GF replied.

Will Smith: Don’t Compare My Family to the Kardashians

Will Smith is looking out for son Jaden, both on-screen and off.

Vulture recently sat down with the "After Earth" stars, and asked the father-son duo if they see themselves similar to -- or different than -- the Kardashians, in the sense that they treat their fame as the family business.

Will, laughing, held up his hand for Jaden not to speak: "Don’t. You know, he’s never had to, to deal with those kinds of questions."

"'So how do you think your life is similar or un-similar to people’s names in Calabasas?'" Will asks back to the interviewer, seemingly "mocking" them. "For our family, the entire structure of our life, our home, our business relationships -- the entire purpose is for everyone to be able to create in a way that makes them happy. Fame is almost an inconsequential by-product of what we're really trying to accomplish."

Continued the elder Smith:

"We are trying to put great things into the world, we're trying to have fun, and we're trying to become the greatest versions of ourselves in the process of doing things we love. So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less than desirable for us."

“Do you think Jaden could have been a dentist?" Vulture then asked.

"It may seem like we have pushed our kids into the business, but that is absolutely insane," Will responds. "I would never, ever, push somebody to have their face on a poster that’s going be everywhere in the world. He is making a choice from the informed."

"It’s less scary to me than if he wanted to be a dentist in that I couldn’t help with what he’d chosen," elaborates Will. "I have relationships with some of the biggest filmmakers and actors and producers on Earth. So I can be a huge help."

"Willow chose singing and then un-chose it," Will continues, referencing his daughter, Willow Smith, whose fame peaked in 2010 with her single "Whip My Hair."

"She said, 'Daddy, I want to go to school with my friends during the week, and I want to hang out with them on the weekends,'" Will reminisces. "At the peak of 'Whip My Hair,' she’s like, 'Daddy, I’m done.' I was like, 'Wow, wow, wow. No, baby, I got 'Annie' [the upcoming movie remake, co-produced by Jay-Z], you know. It’ll be New York, you’ll be with Beyoncé. You can bring your friends.' And she said, 'Daddy, I got a better idea. How about I just be 12?' At the end of the day, it has to be their choice."

What do you make of Will's comments? And do you think there's any similarity between the Smiths and the Kardashians?

Kim Kardashian Wears Tight Kardashian Kollection Dress, Flip Flops

If there's one thing Kim Kardashian loves, it's a tight mini-dress. The pregnant reality star ran errands in Encino, Calif., May 30 wearing a Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins bodycon sheath that retails for $69. Rocking a fishtail braid, the mom-to-be completed her look with a black blazer and flip flops.

"While it's the season for colorful and bright clothing, it's just as chic to wear black and white pieces," Kanye West's baby mama blogged May 24. "There is something so simple and sophisticated about the combination. In the evening or even during the day, these colors will always work and look good on any figure!"

During her first two trimesters, the 32-year-old TV star had a tough time embracing her new curves. "I struggle to find things that don't make me look heavy," she blogged March 1. "Some days, my baby bump really shows, and some days it doesn't . . . so I never really know what I'm going to look like."

Though her body has often been bullied online -- one internet meme equated Kardashian's Cedrice Charlier dress to Shamu -- the entrepreneurial California girl has learned to ignore her critics. In fact, her mom Kris Jenner says she's feeling more feminine than ever. "She's just embracing this whole thing," the matriarch tells Us Weekly in its May 20 issue. "It just makes me very proud. She's happier than she's ever been."

Portia de Rossi's New Look on Arrested Development: Did She Get Plastic Surgery?

Plastic surgery or makeup artistry? Arrested Development fans aren't twittering and Facebooking about the latest plot points in the new season of the kooky cult hit, now on Netflix. They're debating whether Portia de Rossi, who stars as vain, materialistic, self-absorbed (but lovable!) Lindsay Bluth-Funke, has gone under the knife to look younger.

Online commenters are speculating about whether the 40-year-old actress has had rhinoplasty, a brow lift, filler injections, and Botox. And one website even asked plastic surgeons to weigh in. (Their conclusion? Yes.)

But website Jezebel has another theory: "Lindsay's plastic surgery is something that's been repeatedly referenced on AD -- it's easy to imagine she'd get work done in the seven years since the show's final Fox season, and It's just the kind of subtle joke [creator] Mitch Hurwitz and co. would let go unmentioned."

Adam Levine: "I Want To Probably Be Married at Some Point"

Adam Levine talks about marriage on "Oprah's Next Chapter," airing Sunday, June 2.

Marriage is not out of the question for Adam Levine just yet. In a new interview on Oprah's Next Chapter that airs Sunday, June 2, the Maroon 5 frontman opened up about his rockstar lifestyle and his plans to settle down.

Joined by his fellow Voice mentor and friend, Blake Shelton, the 33-year old revealed that marriage is on his radar -- especially while seeing how successful Shelton's two-year marriage is to his singer wife, Miranda Lambert.

"Hearing Blake talk about [marriage], it's great," he explained. "I'm a fan of marriage. People think that I keep pooh-poohing marriage, but I love it."

In fact, the "Love Somebody" singer says he hopes to tie the knot in the future.

"I want to probably be married at some point," he said, noting that he's not in a big rush.

He continued, "I don't feel pressure to get married. I think that when it's time, it's going to be obvious and I'm going to do it and I'm going to really enjoy it."

Linked to a slew of models in the past, Levine's comments come just after Us Weekly exclusively revealed that he's indeed dating another beauty, 21-year-old supermodel Nina Agdal. But sources tells Us that it's not serious…yet.

"It's still new," a source explained.

Before Agdal, the singer dated Victoria's Secret Angel Behati Prinsloo since May 2012. Before that, he was in a two-year relationship with yet another Victoria's Secret stunner, Anne Vyalitsyna. They split in April 2012.

Levine's new thoughts on marriage reveal a slight change of heart for the singer, who revealed he was cautious about marriage in a April 2013 interview with Nylon Guys.

"If you don't get married, you can't get divorced," he said. "Why couldn't we learn from the devastatingly low percentage of successful marriages that our last generation went through?"
